LEGISLATIVE UPDATE - MEDIA ALERT

CNN TONIGHT

William J. Murray, chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition will appear on CNN's Paula Zahn Show this evening to debate the ruling of the Massachusetts Supreme Court on "gay" marriage. He will face homosexual activist Evan Wolfson of the Freedom to Marry Project. The program is live from 8:00-9:00 PM Eastern Time. Below is William J. Murray's statement on the court's ruling.

Now that the Massachusetts Supreme Court has legalized "gay marriage" in that state the obvious result will be an increase in the number of family court judges. A recent study indicates that the average "committed" gay relationship lasts just 18 months. The same study also reveals that those gays in a "committed" relationship have several other sex partners during that time. If homosexuals actually take advantage of marriage, the number of "divorces" from these short lived relationships will swamp the court system.
But there is something far more insidious about the legalization of "gay marriage" because it sends the same message to children as would legalizing the use of marijuana. If it is legal, it must be OK to do it. Young men and women will come under tremendous pressure to try homosexual sex, particularly in the liberal public schools where "sex" education is now taught as early as fourth and fifth grade. Kids who are not old enough to have sex will begin to have instructions on "safe" anal sex, probably taught by volunteers from the local gay bar.
The Massachusetts same sex marriage ruling will also fuel terror against the United States. Many of the Muslim terrorist groups do not hate America because it is a Christian nation, but rather because of the secular values which they see as a danger to the existence of Islam. This court decision will be seen by the followers of Osama bin Laden and the Mullahs of Iran as proof that America is the Great Satan.

For background on the attack on the institution of marriage and the family we highly recommend The Broken Hearth by Dr. William Bennett.
